The Rotary Clubs of Mbarara’s Joint 14th Cancer Run was indeed a resounding success, showcasing the power of collaboration and community spirit. Held under the inspiring tagline “Many Cancers, One Run,” the event brought together numerous stakeholders to create awareness and raise funds for cancer care.

Event Highlights:
Participation: The run had at least 140 runners, comprising 7 Rotary clubs, 4 Rotaract clubs, and 14 corporate organizations representation.

Impactful Partnerships: The joint effort between RC Mbarara, RC Mbarara Ranchers, RC Mbarara East, Rotaract Mbarara, Uganda Police, Ruharo Hospital, and other partners demonstrated the strength of collective action in driving positive change.

Raising Awareness: The event effectively raised awareness about cancer, emphasizing the importance of early detection, treatment, and care.
Fundraising for a Noble Cause: The proceeds from the run will support the development of a Cancer Banker at Nsambya Hospital, providing essential services like chemotherapy, radiology, oncology, and early detection.

RC Mbarara’s Kit Sales:
RC Mbarara sold 76 kits, falling short of their target by 24% considering our target of 100. Despite this, the club’s efforts contributed significantly to the event’s overall success.

To the Organizers:
Great applause is indeed in order for the Rotary Clubs of Mbarara and our partners for organizing this impactful event. Our dedication to creating a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families is truly commendable. The success of this event serves as a testament to the potential of collaborative efforts in driving positive change and promoting community well-being.
